Our Approach

Our approach to management education is rooted in the conviction that education is not the mere transfer of knowledge. To us, the word curriculum means much more than a list of courses or topics that are prescribed for a student; it encompasses a whole set of learning experiences that a student undergoes from which a student emerges richer, with enhanced domain knowledge, deep conceptual understanding, a set of relevant skills and a positive change in attitudes; and, it is something that has to be vibrant and attuned to changing student needs.

We attach great importance to conceptual learning. It is important to us that our students gain a nuanced understanding of management concepts and are able to discern them in real-life situations. Such an understanding, we believe, is indispensable if they are to become life-long learners.

Also of importance to us is skill building. We lay emphasis not only on the hard skills of analysis and synthesis but also on such soft skills as negotiation skills, inter-personal skills and communication skills.

Changing student attitudes and imbibing in them a sense of social responsibility is a task that is difficult but one to which we devote much time and effort.

Finally our approach to management education is one that places emphasis on embedding the latest ICT based educational technologies wherever relevant.

Through a judicious blend of pedagogical methods such as interactive lectures, case discussions, experiential exercises, simulations, short films and the like we seek to make the learning experience truly effective.
